Children ages 3-5 years who qualify for special education have different program options. Placement is determined by the IEP (individualized education plan) team, which includes parents, and is based on individual needs of each student.
We have an inclusion program connected with the School Readiness Preschool program. There is paraprofessional support in the room along with typical peers to provide language, play, and social skill models. This class is co-taught with the School Readiness teacher and ECSE teacher.
There is also a self- contained classroom. This room has kids who all have an IEP and require small group instruction and one:one attention. We work on pre-academic skills, language skills, play skills, social skills and motor skills within our day.
