The Marvelous Wonderettes Wednesday, October 25
We saw this show at the Plymouth Playhouse in 2017. I’m excited to see it at the Ives Auditorium in Bloomington where we’ll begin with an included lunch of Creamy Chicken Breast, served with Roasted Red Potatoes, Glazed Carrots, Coleslaw, Dinner Rolls, Assorted Dessert - Chef’s Choice, Coffee, Decaffeinated Coffee and Hot Tea. (Special dietary meals available by request ahead of time.) Then we’ll head to the theatre for The Marvelous Wonderettes. This smash off-Broadway hit takes you to the 1958 Springfield High School prom where we meet Betty Jean, Cindy Lou, Missy, and Suzy, four girls with hopes and dreams as big as their crinoline skirts! As we learn about their lives and loves the girls serenade us with classic ‘50s hits including “Lollipop,” “Dream Lover,” “Stupid Cupid,” and “Lipstick on Your Collar.” In act two, the Wonderettes reunite to take the stage and perform at their ten-year reunion. We learn about the highs and lows the girls have experienced in the past decade and are charmed to find that no matter what life throws their way, they will conquer it together. Featuring over 30 classic ’50s and ’60s hits, The Marvelous Wonderettes will keep you smiling in this must-take musical trip down memory lane! Sausage, Beer, Pizza Buffet & Lights Tour Thursday, November 30, 2023
People have been asking all summer if/when we’ll do this tour in 2023. I’m offering it only once this year, and I trust it will fill up fast. This tour has it all… one of the best meat markets in the state, the #1 ranked MN brewery (WCCO-TV), a pizza buffet, and a very popular light display… all in one tour… and just in time as we prepare for Christmas! We’ll begin with casual shopping at Schmidt’s Meat Market in Nicollet. (I really suggest that you bring coolers with your name clearly marked on them.) After you’ve had time to buy those Christmas party meats, we’ll head to Schell’s Brewery in New Ulm for a tour and tasting of their fine products. Not a beer drinker? They also make 1919 root beer. They’ve also added a Bier Halle where we’ll relax briefly. By now we’re hungry, so we’re off to the Pizza Ranch for an included late afternoon pizza buffet. (They’re even opening their buffet early just for us.) We’ll end our day with the beautiful Kiwanis Holiday Lights in Mankato.Course: #3845 Date: Thursday, November 30, 2023
