1000 Books Before Kindergarten is a free reading program designed for children aged 0-5 years and their families. Developing literacy skills begins at birth through everyday interactions. You play a powerful role in preparing your child for future school success and in becoming a self-confident and motivated learner.
How this program works:
Register your child, 0-5 years, at GSL Early Childhood Family Education or the Glencoe or Brownton Public Library and receive a reading log to take home.
Keep track of the books read with your little one.
(Optional) Return reading log to GSL ECFE/Preschool for a prize after every 100 books are read. GSL ECFE/Preschool will return the reading log to you so you can submit it to the library.
Return reading log to your public libraries. The GPL and BPL will award prizes after every 100 books read. ** Milestones will be celebrated at a spring event.
