Technology Use Guidelines for Staff and Students
At Glencoe-Silver Lake Public Schools, we believe technology is a powerful tool for learning and communication. To keep everyone safe and ensure our systems are used responsibly, all staff and students need to understand and follow our Technology Use Guidelines. We appreciate your cooperation in helping create a safe, responsible, and productive digital environment for everyone!
Acceptable Use Policy:
Staff: Before you can access any district technology accounts or systems, you’ll need to review and sign the Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) form. This helps ensure you’re familiar with important policies and how to use our systems responsibly and securely.
Students: To use district technology and access the internet, students must review the Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) with your parent / guardian. All students K – 12 must have a signed AUP form.
Google Workspace for Education is a set of productivity tools from Google including Calendar, Docs, Classroom, Drive and more. It is used by students and teachers worldwide. At Glencoe-Silver Lake public Schools, students will use their Google Workspace accounts to complete assignments, communicate with teachers, and develop digital citizenship skills.
Chromebook / iPad Use Agreement Forms
At Glencoe-Silver Lake Public Schools, we believe technology plays a crucial role in helping students learn, collaborate, and think critically. Our 1:1 Chromebook and iPad programs gives students access to digital tools that make learning more engaging and personalized. These programs ensure students have access to their own devices to use both in and out of the classroom depending on grade level. All students and parents/ guardians must sign and agree to follow the Chromebook or iPad Agreement forms.
